Article 894 of the Code of Criminal Procedure states that
when a defendant has pled guilty or is found guilty of a misdemeanor offense the court may suspend the imposition or the execution of the whole or any part of the sentence imposed and place the defendant on unsupervised probation upon such conditions as the court may fix.
This procedure will keep the offense off of an individual’s criminal/traffic record. This is available one time every five years and is given at the discretion of the Judge. There is no class requirement for this article.
Article 892.1
Article 892.1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure states that
when a defendant has pled guilty or is found guilty of a misdemeanor traffic offense the court may order the person to attend and participate in a driver education/improvement program approved by the court.
This procedure will keep the offense of an individual’s traffic record. This available on every two years and is available when you pay your fine. The clerk will give the inquirer the necessary information, the date, etc.
