Welcome to our website. One of our main objectives is to create a user friendly website that will allow you to find the information you are seeking. We are continuously making technological advances to improve the efficiency of the court and to better serve the community.
City Court of Houma is comprised of four departments.
The Civil Department handles regular civil suits (up to $20,000.00), small claims suits (up to $5,000.00), evictions, and other civil proceedings parish-wide.
The Criminal/Traffic Department handles adult misdemeanor and traffic offenses that occur within the city limits.
The Juvenile Department handles all juvenile court matters, except Child In Need of Care cases, within Terrebonne Parish.
The Court Compliance Department ensures individuals who have seen the Judge comply with their court orders.
City Court staff is ready to assist you with any questions you may have and cannot find the answers to on our website. We are aware that the court experience can be a confusing and intimidating experience. Additionally, I desire to make this website as user friendly as possible.
